The Laughter Yoga method is the brainchild of Dr. Madan Kataria, a family physician from Mumbai, India. He started the first laughter club in 1995.  Laughter Yoga (Hasya Yoga) uses a physically oriented technique that has a blend of playful, empowering and otherwise “tension-releasing” simple laughter exercises.  Participate in gentle yoga-breathing and stretching exercises.  As you do rhythmic clapping and chanting of Ho Ho Ha Ha Ha in unison, it results in a simulated laughter which turns into real laughter.  Once you have taken part in one of these sessions, things will never quite be the same again.   Your tears will flow, but tears of laughter and you may just find it difficult to stop your uncontrollable giggles.

You feel so good really quickly, as laughter is a powerful mood booster.  It is described as the HAPPINESS shock treatment!  Laughter reduces depression and negative thoughts, improves attitude, creates a positive outlook and increases happiness!

Yoga encompasses body, mind, and spirit and is the oldest system of personal development. The origin of yoga goes back more than 5000 years.   The value or yoga is recognized, in the modern times, for general health, its preventive and curative effects.  Practicing yoga integrates all aspects of our being.  That is to say it includes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.  Above all we discover our connection to ourselves, to others, to the universe.

When your team works under a lot of pressure and stress, this is your ideal activity.  For example, you may need a quick release mechanism before heading into a strategic work session or conference.  A laughter yoga session takes about 1½ hours and is offered to groups of minimum 15 people.
