TRI ACTIVE LODGE

Where is the Lodge situated?
The Tri Active Lodge is in Elgin Valley, near the town of Grabouw and neighbouring Paul Cluver and Oak Valley wine estates. It falls within the Overberg, Western Cape.

How far is the Lodge from Cape Town?
The Tri Active Lodge is approximately 70 km from Cape Town – 1 hour travelling distance on the N2.

How far is the Lodge from the closest town?
The town of Grabouw is approximately 7.9 kms from the Lodge. Other towns close by are Strand – 29 kms, Somerset West – 32 kms, Hermanus – 48 kms, Kleinmond – 38 kms.

How many rooms does the Tri Active Lodge have?
The Lodge has 19 rooms with a total capacity of 38 people based on twin sharing. All rooms are en-suite. Double beds can be requested at time of booking.  The timber cabins can accommodate 3 people per room, if required, and 3 of the rooms in the Forest Walk can accommodate 4 people per room.   If all rooms are occupied to maximum capacity, the lodge can accommodate 51 people.

What if our group is bigger and we really want to use your venue for our overnight stay?
See above.  We do have a facility to offer triple sharing in the timber cabins, and 4 per room in some of the rooms which increases the capacity to 51 people.  Please enquire with our reservations staff.

Is the Lodge open to tourists and individuals as well as corporate groups?
Yes.

Is the venue available for private functions?
Yes, it is ideal for a variety of private functions, including, but not limited to parties, weddings, lunches, special occasion dinners. More information can be requested from our reservation staff.

Do you have conferencing facilities at the Lodge?
Yes, our conferencing area can accommodate up to 30 U-shape, 40 school-room, 70 cinema style.

What facilities does the Lodge have?
The popular Wildcats Pub is situated in the main Lodge building, as well as the dining area, conference area, lounge and deck. There is a TV in the pub with DSTV. We offer a variety of board games or you can bring your own. We have a excellent sound system set up with a huge music selection available. You are also welcome to bring your own CDs and Ipods along. There is access to the Wifi.

What other facilities are in the rooms?
The guest amenities include tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers.

Does the Lodge have a restaurant for in-house guests?
The Lodge caters for all in-house guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have a limited menu – meal of the day – for individuals and small groups, and buffet menus or set menus for groups of 15 or more. Breakfast is included in our accommodation rate with lunch and dinner as extras.

Do we need to pre-book lunches and dinners?
Yes, we do need to know whether or not you will be eating in our restaurant at time of booking.

Can we choose our meal on the day?
Providing you have made a booking for lunch or dinner, you can discuss your preferences with our reservations staff or chef, but larger groups will need to finalise menu choices a minimum of 1 (one) week prior to arrival.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements, e.g. vegetarian, Halaal?
Yes. Special dietary requirements are required to be advised a minimum of two weeks prior to the date of your stay. If you have Halaal requirements, we do not have a Halaal certified kitchen, but offer Halaal-friendly meals and purchase all our meat products from Halaal certified suppliers. Alternatively Halaal certified meals can be supplied by our Halaal registered caterer and will be surcharged for both the meal and delivery charges.

Do you have braai options on your menus?
Yes, we have an excellent choice of menus for braais. These will be prepared by our chef.

Can we bring our own food and drinks to the venue?
No. We do not allow any own food to be brought onto the premises due to compliance with strict health and safety regulations. No own drinks can be brought or consumed on our premises due to compliance with the liquor licensing regulations.

Do you offer special group rates?
Yes, there are group rates available for overnight guests if you block book the entire facility.

What are the rates for children?
Children 5 and under can share with their parents up to a maximum of two children per unit, free of charge. Children between 6 and 12 years are charged 50% of the rate, and children over that age would be accommodated in a separate room at full charge.

Do you have a swimming pool?
Yes.  It has a lovely pool deck area great for chilling out and relaxing.

Do you offer any activities on site?
Yes, Tri Active Events Management offer a broad selection of activities including Clay Pigeon Shooting, quad biking, nature walks, archery and air rifles, special Family Focus activities and more. Please refer to our Adventure Activities and Teambuilding pages on the website.

Are these included in the price when we stay over?
No, these would need to be pre-booked and will be charged for in addition to your accommodation and meals.

Are there any free activities at the Lodge?
In house guests can make use of our volley ball, lawn cricket and skyball facilities.  We are constantly introducing new activities, so please find out at the time of your reservation.

What else is there to do in the area?
Excellent golf courses including Erinvale, Arabella, Hermanus to name a few.

What is Tri Active Events Management?
Tri Active is a tour operator specializing in the adventure tourism category, a professional conference organizer and DMC (destination management company) offering extensive services to the corporate, business, leisure and private sectors. Tri Active also owns the Tri Active Lodge, a 3-star, 51 bed facility in the heart of the Elgin Valley.

Where is the Tri Active Events Management base?
Tri Active Events Management has its offices at the Tri Active Lodge in Elgin Valley.

Do you offer team building at the Tri Active Lodge?
Yes, we have a wide variety of team building activities available at this venue. There are excellent packages available as well as tailor made programs to suit requirements.

Do you offer catering for the events at the Tri Active Lodge?
Yes, we have a good selection of menus including buffet, conference, picnic and pub menu.

Do you offer team building at other venues too?
Yes we do. We work with our clients to source the right venue for your event and then subject to the relevant permissions from the management of that venue, we can offer a wide variety of team building activities as per the suitability of the venue for the activities.

Do you offer catering at outside events?
Yes, we have a mobile kitchen facility, so if your event is at a venue where catering may be challenging, we can assist.

What group sizes do you handle at the Tri Active Lodge for a day event?
Groups can be as small as 6 and up to 400 people at the Tri Active Lodge.

What group sizes do you handle at other venues?
Groups can be as small as 6 and up to 800 to 1000 obviously depending on suitability of venue and type of activities required.

Do you only offer activities for groups or can individuals book as well?
We offer adventure activities for individuals which include all on-site activities at the Tri Active Lodge mentioned above, as well as a full range of activities off-site. Please enquire with our reservations staff. We also offer multi-day programs which can be tailored to suit your time available and budget.
